Privacy, in plain view.

How this edition handles visits, local records and messages.

What the community area displays

A public comment can include the display name you choose, your plain-text message and its date. Ratings contribute to the average and rating count on a game page. Neither a local favourite nor a personal game score is automatically posted as a comment.

Use a nickname that you are comfortable making public. Do not include a private address, phone number, password, payment information or details about another person in the message. A public contribution can be read by visitors beyond the person you had in mind when writing it.

Browser identity for comments and ratings

The community service uses first-party cookies to recognise a browser and protect requests. A session cookie supports the current review session. A separate randomly generated visitor cookie can persist for up to one year and lets the service associate that browser with its existing contribution.

The service stores a hash of that random visitor identifier with community records. It uses the identifier to manage an editable comment and rating for each game and to limit repeated changes. This is separate from the optional favourites and score history held in local storage.

Changing or removing a contribution

Where the community controls recognise your browser, you can update your own comment and remove your own rating. The service also supports deleting your comment. Clearing cookies can remove the browser’s ability to recognise the earlier contribution.

For a request that the visible controls cannot resolve, contact [email protected] with the game page, display name, approximate date and the relevant message. Send only the information needed to identify the record. A request may require a reasonable check that it concerns your contribution.

Limits of a local deletion

Removing optional site records clears favourites, personal bests and recent sessions from the current browser. It does not erase a public comment already stored by the community service or a message you sent through your email provider. Those records have separate handling.

The website includes no cross-device account. A local score lost through browser cleanup cannot be restored from a public ranking, because the site does not upload that personal score history. Contact messages and ordinary hosting records may exist separately from these browser-only features.
